1) If Zherdev can live up to his potential this will be a nice deal. Backman needed to be jettisoned, and Tyutin seemed to plateau in his improvement
2) The issue we see is that with the loss of Avery and addition of Zherdev the team needs to address team toughness. Rutuu or Matt Cooke would have been a cheaper version of Avery, but neither produce offense the way Sean did. Agree with Brooks that Avery will be missed.
