Trade Confirmed

More updates:
Columbus Blue Jackets Nikolai Zherdev and Dan Fritsche have been traded to the New York Rangers for Fedor Tyutin and Christian Backman.

  1. 1) If Zherdev can live up to his potential this will be a nice deal. Backman needed to be jettisoned, and Tyutin seemed to plateau in his improvement
    2) The issue we see is that with the loss of Avery and addition of Zherdev the team needs to address team toughness. Rutuu or Matt Cooke would have been a cheaper version of Avery, but neither produce offense the way Sean did. Agree with Brooks that Avery will be missed.

  2. Good trade. We need another finisher. He could have a gauranteed 30+ goal season playing with Gomez.

Any offer of 'tickets at cost' is exactly that -- I have season tickets and will sell them for what I paid --- so no mark-ups.
