Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Sean Avery suffered a lacerated spleen in Tuesday night’s game, and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
He was taken to St. Vincent’s hospital after the game, and was admitted following a CT scan. He is expected to make a full recovery during the off-season.
The Rangers return to action tomorrow, May 1, when they face-off against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game Four of their Eastern Conference Semifinal matchup at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.)
Rumor has it that Marty Brodeur of the Newark Devils may have had something to do with it and could not be reached for comment and has not been able to provide a reasonable alibi.

1) Its good news that Avery's injury is not what was reported at first by the jerks at The Daily News.
ReplyDelete2) As we mentioned yesterday on our blog, the News should fine or fire the jerks who tried to tie Avery's injury to his life style. It was despicable, and if we were Avery, we'd sue the News!
3) Bloggers get maligned because we have no one to answer to/no editors, etc., How in hell does this story get published? It appears that we bloggers (as a whole) do a better job than the mainstream press! Shame on The News!
Agreed, Faux. It's not until someone gets paid for blogging that it becomes dishonest. As a blogger, I may not always be right - but it is my opinion and as I see it. The News is junk, The Post and Larry Brooks is okay and I really like Lynn Zinszer at The NY Times, which covers the NHL daily! Times are 'a changing in the Big Apple.
